PLA plastic cups, a new type of biodegradable product. They can be a perfect substitute for ordinary disposable plastic cups, and even in a sense, they are also a substitute for
disposable paper cups. If companies are willing to increase costs to reduce the amount of waste they generate, then this is undoubtedly the beginning of a huge shift in social attitudes towards an eco-friendly lifestyle.
The particularity of PLA plastic cups
From the appearance point of view, the
biodegradable cold drink cup is no different from the cup made of ordinary plastic. You can check the composition of the package yourself by looking at the bottom of any plastic product you own. You will find a number inside the triangle formed by arrows. This is called the resin identification code, and the number range is 1-7. Each number corresponds to a different material. For ordinary plastic cups, the code is 5, which corresponds to polypropylene. Polypropylene is a strong thermoplastic polymer that can be used as a moisture barrier and is relatively heat resistant. Although it is tough and resistant to many solvents, it can be recycled. On the other hand, if it ends up in a landfill, it may take up to 20 years to completely decompose. To
On the other hand, the biodegradable cup is made of polylactic acid (PLA). It usually comes from plant sugars such as corn starch, sugar beet or sugar cane. In order for PLA cups and biodegradable packaging to generally degrade faster than their oil-based plastic counterparts, they eventually need to enter the correct waste stream, in contact with water, heat, and oxygen. Compostable hot cup is our innovative solution, which can solve many problems of poly-coated paper cups. Our cups use a bioplastic coating called PLA, instead of using harmful polyethylene coatings that are not biodegradable. PLA is derived from corn starch and is fully compostable in a commercial environment.
Other advantages of PLA plastic cups
Like ordinary polymer coatings, PLA can withstand high temperatures, making it ideal for handling hot beverages without leaking toxic chemicals, melting or leaking. Even the lids of these cups are made of PLA and are 100% compostable.
The double-wall design keeps the beverage insulated without sleeves, which means your beverage will stay hot and your hands will stay cool. If your business or restaurant is looking for practical and sustainable solutions, Hyde is your best choice.
Precautions
Biodegradable packaging should not be placed in standard recycling bins used to collect paper, plastic, and metal, because food waste can harm the mechanical recycling process. Nor should it be placed in general waste that will eventually be incinerated or landfilled. If burned, bioplastics will generate energy, and some studies have shown that they generate more heat than paper. So this is not terrible. However, although compostable bioplastics do not produce methane, landfills are designed to be anaerobic and compostable bioplastics will not degrade under these conditions. If PLA cups are finally placed in the same waste container as polypropylene cups, then we hardly waste a lot of time and energy.
These
PLA plastic cups are excellent substitutes for hotels, catering events and parties. In addition, you can rest assured that all products provided by Hyde have passed BPI certification and meet the standards of food tableware. Now leave a message for the
disposable biodegradable products you are interested in and start a green life immediately.
