Kraft paper food boxes are sometimes criticized by the media. Food service containers such as disposable lunch boxes and disposable soup bowls are said to be used once and then thrown away, which is both wasteful and bad for the environment. While there are certainly foodservice products that will only spend years in landfills, there are many companies that use biodegradable materials in their disposable food containers. These can be safely discarded or recycled, effectively eliminating one of the biggest complaints about disposable food containers. Considering that any disposable food containers you use are made from recycled or biodegradable materials, they will offer many advantages for your company. But kraft paper food boxes aren't the only bad thing, here are a few benefits to keep in mind.

  Hygienic
One advantage of kraft paper food boxes that many people may not consider is that they are often more sanitary than reusable plates and lunch boxes. Plates or silverware can certainly be washed and reused, but this does not eliminate all of the bacteria that may remain. Also, kraft paper food boxes are discarded after one use, thus reducing the chance of food-borne illness and contamination.

  Water and Energy Saving
Constantly washing reusable dishes requires a lot of water and energy. Large restaurants may use industrial-grade dishwashers that use 7 to 8 gallons of water per minute. This water can reach temperatures of up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Meanwhile, kraft paper food boxes don't need to be washed, they just get thrown away.

  Convenience
The reason so many restaurants and their customers want to use kraft paper food boxes is the convenience factor. Not only is there no need to wash things like disposable soup bowls and plates, but customers don't even have any reason to leave them in the restaurant. If diners are in a hurry and want to eat later, diners can take their food with them, which is somehow convenient for all involved.

  Preventing food spoilage
Kraft paper food boxes are obviously perfect for restaurants that serve takeout or take-out food, but not because they can be discarded when no longer needed. Many kraft paper food boxes are designed to keep food hot during transport. This means that it will be fresh and ready to eat even after a long journey. This is still not as ideal as simply eating a meal immediately after preparation and service, but it reduces the amount of food that has to be thrown away due to spoilage and improper storage.

Of course, it's also important to remember that while kraft paper food boxes do offer a lot of benefits to restaurants and individuals, you should stick to recyclable or biodegradable containers whenever possible. Polystyrene foam is indeed an effective take-out container, but it also doesn't decompose when it ends up in a landfill. If you can, stick to biodegradable containers made of paper or cardboard. It's so much better for the environment. If you own or manage a food service business, you must have kraft paper food boxes!
